FinanceMalta, the public-private partnership set up to promote Malta’s international financial centre, held an exclusive winter networking event for its corporate and affiliate members at The Xara Lodge, part of the Infinitely Xara Group which owns The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux and is an affiliate member of FinanceMalta.

Over 100 guests from all branches of the finance industry, government, regulator, operators and associated bodies were joined by the Prime Minister Dr. Gonzi who thanked all the operators and stakeholders for their continuing hard work to develop the sector in Malta.  

Speaking on behalf of FinanceMalta, Chairman Kenneth Farrugia thanked the Prime Minister for his support and told the select group of invitees, “Our strong regulatory regime and pro-active regulator is supported by one of the most competitive packages in the world.  In addition to robust legislation, Malta offers modern infrastructure, an advantageous fiscal regime and a cost-effective base from which to carry out international business. Mr. Farrugia on behalf of FinanceMalta and the guests donated €1000 towards the Puttinu Cares Foundation; present at the event was  Mr. Malcolm Custo, committee member of Puttinu Cares.
