Volksbank customers and employees support Ursuline Crèche

During the traditional Christmas concert organised by Volksbank at the beginning of December, the bank asked customers, business partners and employees for a donation in aid of the Ursuline Crèche in Sliema. At the Crèche, which is in the direct neighbourhood of the bank, the sisters take care of about 50 babies and toddlers, who for some reason cannot live with their families.

“Volksbank regularly supports charitable institutions, and especially at Christmas time we want to give something to the less fortunate people”, Noel Paris, the banks’ Front Office Manager, explained. “So once again we decided to support the most vulnerable members of the society, young children who are separated from their parents – maybe we can help to bring a bit of Christmas joy into their lives.”

Sr. Assunta, who collected the donation, explained that the Crèche very much depends on the support and generosity of the people. The sisters currently have a baby in their care which is just a few days old, and they are taking care of children until the age of 4 years. Obviously, these children need food, clothes, a warm home and a lot of dedication.
