Ronnie Attard demise: MFA sends condolences

Ronnie Attard, former MFA technical director and national teams manage, passed away at the age of 70.

In a statement, the Malta Football Association expressed its sadness at the demise of Ronnie Attard, a former technical director in the nineties.

“Mr Attard was an excellent organiser and head of the association’s marketing section for several years,” it said.

He dedicated his life to Maltese football and worked closely with former national coaches Horst Heese, Pippo Psaila, Pietro Ghedin, Robert Gatt, Milorad Kosanovic and Josef Ilic. He also worked with Fr Hilary Tagliaferro in organising the youth sector and nurseries in the eighties and nineties, as well as at the Sport Education Centre.

Mr Attard will be remembered as an ex-player and ex-coach with Hibernians, Hamrun Spartans and Zejtun Corinthians.

The MFA expressed its deep condolences with the Attard family.

Funeral mass will be said on Saturday 22 December at Attard parish church at 2pm.
