When passion for Gospel music is further motivated by performing for a good cause, a great experience is bound to result. This is what the Animae Gospel Choir performers together with those who attended “A Holy Night with Animae" the weekend before Christmas had the pleasure of witnessing.

The two packed concerts, which took place at St. Theresa Sanctuary in Birkirkara, and The Good Shepherd Chapel (Tac-Cawla) in Victoria, Gozo, offered a selection of Christmas Carols and Gospel classics while singer Nadine Axisa shared some Christmas related reflections with the audience.

The atmosphere created during the concerts was magical; through every note and word the choir sang, mixed feelings of joy, peace and gratefulness echoed in everyone’s heart. Animae Gospel Choir, under the impeccable direction of Pamela (Bezzina) was accompanied by a three-piece band; Christian Borg and Conrad Briffa on piano/keyboards and Alex Debono on drums.

‘A Holy night with Animae’ was honoured with the presence of the Minister for Gozo Giovanna Debono, the Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech, United States ambassador to Malta Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley and mayor of Victoria Samuel Azzopardi.

Supported by the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund and Entertainment.com.mt Ltd, the proceeds from the concerts will be donated to the St Joseph’s Home in Sta Venera.
