Thanks to the Mission Fund

Malta Independent Saturday, 5 January 2013, 12:57 Last update: about 14 years ago

I would like to thank the Mission Fund and all its benefactors for donating €1,500 towards our work here with the elderly poor. This generous contribution will help us greatly in our work, which is taking care of the elderly poor according to the teaching of our Mother Foundress St Jeanne Jugan.

Through this letter I appeal to all your readers to continue helping the Mission Fund by sending used stamps as well as donations. The donations may be made online or by direct bank transfer to one of the following accounts: HSBC (A/c No. 061197 448050), BOV (A/c No. 163007 98019), APS (A/c No. 200008 20762), and BANIF (A/c No. 000879 631 01). More information is available from the website www.missionfund.org.mt

Once again, thank you and I assure you all of our daily prayers for the benefactors of the Mission Fund, without whose help our mission would be rendered more difficult.

Allow me to take this opportunity to end this letter by telling you briefly about our mission statement.

The Little Sisters of the Poor welcome the needy elderly of all nationalities and religions into their Homes, where they find security, food, clothing, friendship and the assurance of loving care in the closing years of their lives.

The apostolic mission of the Little Sisters is more relevant than ever today, with a steadily increasing elderly population, more of whom are finding themselves without family support.
