Malta’s top player Tony Drago had a winning start at the New Year while taking part in the qualifying rounds of the Arcaden Munich Open.

Playing in the second round on Friday, Drago defeated Matthew Selt 4-2. But he was then eliminated in the third round when he lost 4-2 to Liam Highfield.

After a somewhat disappointing year, Drago has gone down the world ranking list. In fact, he has gone down 18 places. He had started the season in summer in 65th place and is now occupying 83rd place.

In a recent interview, he said he will be doing his best to get back where he feels he belongs – further up the standings.
