Paul Gascoigne's agent says the former England midfielder requires urgent medical help.

The 1990 World Cup star — nicknamed "Gazza" — has been plagued by alcohol and mental-health problems since quitting the game in 2005

Despite receiving treatment in recent years, agent Terry Baker says the 45-year-oldGascoigne has been drinking again, adding on the BBC: "His life is always in danger because he is an alcoholic."

Gascoigne was pictured in Britain looking unwell at a public event Thursday.

Baker says Gascoigne "immediately needs to get some help ... maybe no one can save him — I don't know."

Gascoigne scored 10 goals in 57 matches for England. He played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers and Middlesbrough before his career was cut short by injuries and off-field troubles.
