VFM Funds Under Management exceed €707 million

Valletta Fund Management Limited (VFM) held its first quarter educational seminar for Bank of Valletta p.l.c. (BOV) licensed financial representatives on 1 February 2013 at The Palace Hotel, Sliema. Kenneth Farrugia, Chief Officer - Fund Services, opened the seminar by announcing that funds under management have exceeded €707 million*.

Kenneth Farrugia further highlighted the importance of such educational seminars which are held on a quarterly basis to keep the BOV licensed personnel abreast of the changes in the local and international markets as well as on the performance of the Valletta Fund Management Limited range of funds.

Ms Alison Arthurs, fixed income product specialist at Insight Investment Management (Global) Limited (Insight), the appointed Sub-Investment Manager to VFM’s international income investment solutions who have been awarded the Fixed Income Manager for 2012, delivered a presentation on the performance and outlook of the international bond market.  She also shared her views with those present on the current low interest rate scenario and the options available to investors seeking periodic income streams from their investments. During 2012, Insight have been awarded a number of industry awards including a Gold Rating by S&P for their Monthly Income Fund, the Fixed income Asset Manager of the year and the Liability-Driven Investment Firm of the year by Financial News Award and Fixed Income Manager of the Year by European Pensions Award.

A number of presentations were held focusing on the local and international markets as well as an update of VFM’s range of investment solutions. To complement the BOV Group's initiative to commemorate World Cancer Day, VFM invited all attendees to “Dress Down” by wearing casual clothing during the seminar to raise funds for Hospice Movement Malta, a voluntary non-profit organisation caring for over 900 cancer patients and their families.
