Siena outsmarted Lazio with an emphatic 3-0 score to increase their hopes of remaining in the top flight in spite of starting the league with a six-point handicap.

Lazio’s bid to make up lost ground on Napoli and Juventus faltered as the team from the capital city has now been caught up by Milan in this place, and they remain 11 points behind the leaders.

Siena’s hero was Emeghara, who headed home the opener after just six minutes and completed his double on the hour. In between, Rosina had added a second goal for the home side.

Seiena now move up to 18th place with 21 points, just four adrift from Genoa.
