Valletta Fund Management ("VFM"), a member of the BOV Group, is producing an informative and educational programme on RTK radio titled "Investi bil-Ghaqal". This programme which is being aired every Friday between 18:05 an 18:55 hrs is undertaken by VFM to create awareness about investments and to help investors understand the basics of investments. Listeners are also encouraged to participate through call ins and to seek further information or clarification on any aspect of the topic of discussion during the programme.
A total of 25 sessions will run until the end of July 2013, which topics will cover various financial related subjects such as the basics of bonds and equities, monthly investment plans, balance between risk and return, the importance of the reading prospectus and other documentation, the individual’s investment objectives, asset allocation and trusts amongst others.
Speaking on the release of the first programme, Mark Agius - Head of VFM said that "Awareness on the importance of educating investors and the general public on financial matters such as investments is recognised by the financial industry as being imperative. Since its inception in 1995, VFM has always been committed to provide the general public with information to enhance their financial knowledge and has played an important role in providing financial consumer education initiatives such as presentations, market report updates on both the local and international markets and opinion pieces which are made available on the companies' website amongst others. The radio programme is one of the initiatives being undertaken by VFM with the objective of providing the general public with necessary knowledge on investments to enable them understand the benefits and risk of investment products.
