SkyParks in tree planting initiative

Malta Independent Friday, 1 March 2013, 13:37 Last update: about 13 years ago

Recently, all staff involved in the management of Malta Airport’s SkyParks Business Centre, together with their families were invited for a tree planting event organized in collaboration with 34U, held at the new Sant’Antnin Family Park in Marsascala. 100 trees were planted on behalf of all tenants at SkyParks Business Centre and was a result of an initiative taken in December, when SkyParks Business Centre Ltd had opted not to print any Christmas Cards and sent out e-cards to all tenants instead.

General Manager George Mallia said that once again, SkyParks Business Centre has come up with a sustainable initiative in relation to its BREEAM accreditation. “When one considers that each year over 30 million trees are chopped down for Christmas, we wanted to counter such an unsustainable practice and took this opportunity and go beyond merely having a synthetic tree in our office, but also contribute so that future generations may have a greener Christmas.”
