Sliema McDonalds started their season on a positive note when the opened the BOV Winter League with a good win against their rivals San Giljan Sir Alex. The match was balanced as both team had their chances but Sliema were more sharp in the final session to gain their first three points. 

The first two sessions kept the same rythm as actions were on both sides and the result was still a draw of 3-3. Fava put Karl Izzo’s team in the lead but then they had to come back twice from a goal down.

Sliema were a bit superior in the third session as they took a two goal cushion until Rath reduced the margin in the dying seconds of the session to keep the match open.  

In the last session Sliema were better and more lethal to win the last session and the match.
