Perhaps still reeling from his Champions' League defeat last Tuesday, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has come out with a ringing endorsement for the Malta Labour Party.
The image of a letter is currently doing the rounds on Facebook, carrying the signature of Sir Alex.
The letter also appears in a paid advert by the PL in a local paper today.
“I sincerely hope that the people of Malta support Dr Joseph Muscat in his quest to bring the Labour Party back into power in Malta. I wish them well in the future of the campaign and I am sure they will be successful,” Sir Alex is quoted as saying.
Sir Alex was appointed manager of Manchester United in 1986, successfuly leading it for 27 years without change.
The Manchester United supporters’ club Malta distanced themselves from the endorsement.
