Roma missed a chance to bridge the gap between them and an Europa Cup place when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Udinese, who made another step forward in their so far comfortable season.

Roma took the lead with a Lamela tap in after a header by Florenzi was parried onto the crossbar by Udinese goalkeeper Brkic.

Udinese increased the pressure in the second half and Muriel hammered home the equaliser from an acute angle on the hour for a 1-1 draw.

Hereaux was sent off 17 minutes from time but Udinese held on to the point.
