Manchester United clinched their 20th English title, winning 3-0 to bag the three points they needed to mathematically make sure against Aston Villa at Old Trafford Monday night.

With the closest rivals Manchester City losing on Sunday, United knew that a victory would have sealed the issue.

And they did not have to wait long to make sure of the points and throw the 75,000 at Old Trafford and their many other supporters worldwide into a frenzy as Dutchman Van Persie netted a hat-trick in the first half.

The first goal arrived just after two minutes, the second on the 13th and the third just after the half hour. From then onwards United controlled the game with little trouble as their noisy fans celebrated on the stands.
