Bank of Valletta announced new enhancements to its mobile banking service, increasing the versatility and usefulness of mobile payments for both personal and business customers.
“We are rolling out an upgraded version of our BOV Mobile app through which our customers can better track their BOV Mobile payments by adding a comment to every transaction which, in turn, will feature on their payment records and account statements,” said Michael Galea, Chief Officer, Operations at Bank of Valletta. “This will make it possible for customers to record the reason for each mobile payment, making it easier to reconcile expenses at the end of the month,” he added.
Furthermore, through the upgraded BOV Mobile app, customers now have the option to send their mobile number to the person or entity accepting the payment, as part of the payment notification itself. This is particularly useful in situations where a customer is paying for a service, and the service provider needs to contact the customer as part of that service.
“Since launching BOV Mobile last March, we have had overwhelmingly positive feedback to this service with BOV Mobile garnering recognition from customers, and winning local and international accolades. These enhancements show our intent to continue to roll out innovations as we continue to respond to our customers’ changing needs with products and services that are relevant to today’s lifestyles,” added Mr. Galea.
Over the past 12 months, BOV Mobile has attracted more than 11,500 customers, who have collectively used their mobile phones more than half a million times to make payments, to transfer funds and to monitor their accounts.
BOV Mobile is a major deliverable in BOVs multiyear, multichannel banking strategy, and these new features are another step on a journey of sustained, trend-setting innovation that will continue to re-define the customer experience, and concurrently, continue to strenghten BOVs position as the financial service brand of choice in the market.
