Sharma Ethnic Cuisines of Mdina is currently hosting a photographic exhibition by Maltese artist Mary Attard. The exhibition, entitled ‘Impressions’, includes a range of images which highlight a cross section of patterns, texture and colours found in nature, all of which have a special appeal for the artist.
For Mary Attard, photography is just a tool for capturing all that strikes her ‘along her journey called life’. “Essentially, through photography I try to find the significant in the insignificant, separating what is extraordinary from the mundane,” she says. With a camera almost always at hand she tries to capture some of the childish wonder from the world around her.
Commenting on the exhibition, Frank Cachia, proprietor of Sharma, highlighted the importance of providing a holistic dining experience. “Apart from the attention we give to the restaurant’s ambience and the way this enhances the diner’s experience, we also have lots of repeat business, and we therefore try to ensure that patrons at our restaurant always find something different at Sharma, whether it’s an art exhibition, ethnic music or dancing, or an original recipe prepared by a guest chef.”
Mary Attard’s photographic exhibition will be on display at the Sharma Ethnic Cuisines of Mdina until the 23rd May. To know more about the artist visit http://mary-attard.artistwebsites.com. For more information about Sharma Ethnic Cuisines visit www.sharma.com.mt.
