Malta Independent Wednesday, 1 May 2013, 11:48 Last update: about 13 years ago

Julian Pace Bonello became the new president of the Maltese Olympic Committee yesterday.

He was uncontested for the post during the elections for the MOC’s new administration for the next four years.

He will be succeeding Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco who did not seek re-election. Pace Bonello is better known as the long-serving president of the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association. In the past term, he served the MOC in the post of deputy president.

Pace Bonello is also president of the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Federation.

The Executive Committee will also have other new faces, however.

Among others, in fact, Mark Cutajar, the former Director of Sport, was confirmed as the new deputy president, while Ivan Balzan, well known in squash circles, is the new Director of Sport. They were both uncontested.

Secretary General Joe Cassar and treasurer David Azzopardi are retaining their posts. They were also uncontested.
