A worker has been seriously injured but is not in danger of dying when a ceiling of a house in Sliema collapsed earlier today.

The man, a 29-year-old from Zurrieq was assisted on site by  members of the Civil Protecion Depatment and a medical team and rushed to hospital in an ambulance. His condition is not yet known. 

The accident happened in Triq il-Hnejja at 10.50, the police said. 

To other workers, a 27-year-old from Qormi and a 32-year-old from Zebbug were at the site but escaped unharmed.
