Why did you take up acting?

To rehearse, not to perform. I love the gradual evolution of the characters, the insight into the story, the bonding between cast... it's an amazing experience.

What have been your most memorable theatrical roles?

I used to do three to four plays a year when I was younger and only stopped when I returned to Malta in the 1990s and took up journalism. I have done all sorts of plays from musicals to drama, Shakespeare to panto. I've been really looking forward to getting back on stage.

Do you have any exciting moments that you can share with us?

I was almost choked to death when playing Jack in MADC's Jack and the Beanstalk – and I had to pick up some false teeth from the centre of the stage and return them to the hapless actor during a Shakespeare play at San Anton. Does that last one count as embarrassing or funny?

How often can you get involved in theatre considering you have a very demanding career in media and public relations, and other responsibilities?

If you had asked me before this play I would have said three times a year. Now even once seems too much to cope with. But you make time for the things you love. The important thing is to keep a balance and not neglect all the other wonderful things in your life: especially my new grandson!

Tell us about this play…

The play will challenge our prejudices about men who cheat, about why women get married, about why we make so much fuss about getting married and so little about being married. It's clever, funny and thought-provoking.
