Ceiling of another house collapses in St Julian's; owner escapes unhurt

Malta Independent Wednesday, 22 May 2013, 15:35 Last update: about 12 years ago

A ceiling of another house collapsed, this time in Kirxa Street, St Julian's, a stone's throw away from where tlast week's incident occurred.

Last week, a worker was injured when a ceiling collapsed in Sliema.

On entering the building, which sat unused for years, the home owner found herself in the basement after the ceiling caved in.

It is understood the ceiling's support beams gave in and a portion of the ceiling collapsed, the owner ending up sliding down since the ceiling rested on the celiling's slabs (xorok).

Luckily, she wasn't injured.
