Reference is being made to the report which was featured in your esteemed medium related to the note which the undersigned presented in court on Tuesday 14th May in which I decided to clarify my position vis a vis the ex Sliema Wanderers FC President Steve Abela.

I would like to make it clear that in no instance I admitted in court that I was mistaken in my declaration regarding the debt left by Mr Abela after he resigned from Sliema Wds FC President.

The report which was featured in your medium gave an incorrect version of facts and this unfortunately can lead to negative professional consequences to the undersigned.

I reiterate that in the note presented in court I only declared that I had incorrect or incomplete information but never admitted that was mistaken in the substance of my arguments, meaning that I never took back the declaration that Mr Abela left hefty debts after he resigned.

In this regard I confirm that I am in possession of proof confirming actual and accumulative debts like wages which were projected till the end of the 2011/12 season as revealed in the programme Kontrattakk broadcast on TVM in November 2011 which I was ready to present in Court.

I have therefore decided to present the note in court after I met personally with Mr Abela through a mediator and having heard Mr Abela’s official position. Mr Abela explicitly asked me to withdraw my declaration that he had let over €400,000 in debts as his argument was that my calculations were based on the principle of accumulative debts and not actual debts.

Eventually Mr. Abela withdrew the libel proceedings against me.
