I wish the best of luck to the new leaders of the Nationalist Party.

I use the plural with a purpose – because I believe that Simon Busuttil, Mario de Marco and Beppe Fenech Adami form a formidable leadership team.

Dr Busuttil has said that he wants the party to have a leadership team, not a leader. He is right.

I think that the Nationalist Party lost the last election simply because it concentrated too much on its leader. We all remember the gonziPN tag that was used. That proved to be the downfall of the party.

Now it has wiped its slate clean and has decided to focus more on the idea of team which, it itlse,f gives an indication of unity.

I wish the three of them the best of luck. They need it.
