Malta Independent Tuesday, 28 May 2013, 09:24 Last update: about 11 years ago

This week, Italian Ambassador Giovanni Umberto De Vito paid a visit to the San Andrea School, which has carried out, since 2010, a multicultural education project that is also delivered in Italian.

The project, available to Maltese, Italian and foreign students, contributes to the development of multilingualism, promotes Italian culture and offers the opportunity of cultural exchange between pupils of various nationalities.

During his visit to the school, Ambassador De Vito, in addition to meeting the teachers and students of the Italian-Maltese project, as well as the Maltese students who have chosen to study Italian as a foreign language, gave the school a financial contribution from the Italian government for the promotion of the Italian language.

The delegation led by the ambassador also had the opportunity to visit the school’s Italian stand set up on the occasion of the San Andrea International Day.
