Malta Independent Thursday, 30 May 2013, 09:14 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Statue of Our Lady of the Lily will be carried along Mqabba's main streets on Her Feast Day, Sunday 16 June. The Procession, lead by the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception will exit Mqabba Parish Church at 7.15pm, welcomed by a salute and battrey.

The Statue will be saluted with the Ave Maria by the guest Band. The Climax is reached when the Statue arrives in front of the Society's Premises in Church Square, where the guest Band performs the long version of the Hymn to Our Lady of the Lily. Fireworks will be let off at 9:30pm. Afterwards, the Procession takes the form of an Aux Flambeaux Piligrimage, leading to its entrance back in the Parish Church, where a Eucharistic Celebration follows. Afterwards, members of Lily Fireworks will participate in a thanksgiving celebration.

All devotees are encouraged to attend both during the exit and entrance of the Procession. More information on www.talgilju.com.
