Government u-turn on chemotherapy in Gozo – PN

Malta Independent Wednesday, 12 June 2013, 20:32 Last update: about 12 years ago

The government’s decision to start chemotherapy services in Gozo was described as a  u-turn by the Nationalist Party which, in a statement, said the reversal came after criticism that was levelled against the government.

A spokesman for the ministry on Sunday had declared that work on the service had stopped but, after this revelation was criticised, the government went back on its word, the PN said.

The government statement did not deny what a previous PN statement had said, which the PN interpreted as a clear indication that the government had changed its mind.

The PL had described the PN position as immoral, but the PN said what was immoral was that the Labour government was taking credit on a project that was initiated by the previous administration.
