Chris Ciantar, the former permanent secretary to the ministry of resources and rural affairs,  together with his wife, Eleanor Ciantar who was a manager within the same ministry, today presented a protest in the civil courts against Orizzont and One Tv.

The couple claim that various unfounded accusations were made by these two media organisations in there regard.

Among the alleged accusations made, were those that Dr Ciantar abused his position and had a conflict of interest in having his wife working in the secretariat.

It was also alleged that his wife was given various promotions, and that the position of manager was created for her.

Dr Ciantar said he had requested an investigation from the Auditor General and although this was underway, the newspaper and the television station were still publishing slanderous articles about them.
