Malaga says it has reached an agreement with former German player Bernd Schuster to be its coach for the next five seasons.
Schuster will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who is expected to take over Manchester City.
The 53-year-old Schuster played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid and has coached.
Malaga qualified for the Europa League next season but was banned by UEFA from one season of European competition for not paying wages and taxes on time.
