Transfer news: Mata, El Shaarawy, Matri, Bale and more

Malta Independent Wednesday, 19 June 2013, 15:22 Last update: about 13 years ago

Barcelona have targeted Juan Mata for a shock summer swoop because they believe he has fallen out with Jose Mourinho, The Mirror reports.

Mourinho insisted last week he has not spoken to Mata, or any of the Chelsea players on Confederations Cup duty in Brazil, since being reappointed.

But rumours that the Special One is not convinced by Mata have grown in recent weeks.

And the Nou Camp side have now sent out feelers in the direction of the former Valencia man, ahead of a likely £30million bid.

Andy Carroll has texted West Ham players to say that he will be rejoining them at Upton Park next season.

The England striker, a hit on loan from Liverpool in the last campaign, had a medical on Tuesday night with a view to completing a £15.5m move - a fee which could rise to £17.5m with add-ons – to the Hammers on a six-year contract, The Mirror reported.

Carroll could yet be joined at the east Londoners by Chelsea hitman Romelu Lukaku to form a mouthwatering strike-force.

Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy could be on the move from the Italian giants, with reports linking him to French team Monaco in a €45 million bid.

Milan second-in-command Adrian Galliani was in Monaco Tuesday night to discuss the possible transfer, with Italian media also reporting that the French club showed an interest in also acquiring Boateng and Niang from the Italians.

Milan need to sell players before they buy others, and the departure of El Shaarawy would bring in the desired cash for the club to continue rebuilding its side.

Real Madrid are still to confirm Carlo Ancelotti as their new coach but are on the attack in other spheres. The Spanish giants are set to offer up to €130 million for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale and Spanish youngster Isco, who impressed so much in the recent Under 21 European championships won by Spain.

Their arrival would lead to the definite departure of Brazilian star Kaka, with his destination likely to be his home country as the former Milan player seeks to win a place in the World Cup squad.

Juventus striker Alessandro Matri could well be on his way to French side Ajaccio, coached by another former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli.

In spite of scoring 12 goals last season Matri remains a second or third choice for Juventus coach Conte, and is likely to move away from Turin this summer.

Milan have also shown an interest in the player but Juventus’ asking price of €12 million is beyond Milan’s reach at the moment.

Inter have reportedly agreed with Parma for the transfer of striker Belfodil in exchange for the loan of defender Silvestre and striker Cassano, plus 10 million euros.

The deal is still on hold as Cassano has expressed his reservations for the move to a club that has no title ambitions.
