Gonzalo Higuain has agreed to join Arsenal as the club-record £22million deal nears a conclusion, The Mirror reports.

Higuain and his agent father Jorge are believed to have agreed personal terms in excess of £130,000-a-week.

The Spanish giants circulated Higuain's name for transfer last month and gave him the green light to negotiate a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

Higuain is keen to move to Arsenal after two rounds of talks with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who hopes to wrap up the formalities before the club's Far East tour in three weeks' time.

Juventus have also been keen on Higuain but they are now more likely to land Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic.

Liverpool have begun negotiations with Gremio with a view to signing starlet Matheus Biteco at the end of this month.

The 17-year-old midfielder was part of the Brazil team that won this year’s prestigious Toulon tournament, and did enough to convince the Reds to finally make their move after following his progress for the last 12 months.

Brazilian rules prevent players being sold to overseas clubs until they are 18, but with Biteco’s birthday falling on 28 June there are no longer any red tape issues that would prevent his transfer.

The youngster - full name is Matheus Betancourt da Silva - has not yet played in a national championship game for Gremio, but impressed in Brazil’s state championships in February and March.

Hulk's agent has hinted the player could leave Zenit St Petersburg this summer, with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco all keen on the Brazilian, British media report.

Chelsea have long been linked with a move for the former Porto man, who is currently on Confederations Cup duty in his homeland.

But the big-spending French sides both have an interest in Hulk, who is reportedly unhappy at Zenit less than a year after joining the Russian club.

Earlier this month, Hulk claimed that Jose Mourinho is a fan of his, and now his agent, Jose Caldeira, admits that a move could happen this summer.

Steve Bruce is set to provide old club Birmingham with a financial boost after agreeing a £2.25 million deal for Curtis Davies, The Telegraph reported.

Bruce has finally thrashed out a fee with Birmingham for the centre-half and Davies will join Hull City with Jack Hobbs moving to St Andrew's on loan.

Davies, had admitted he was keen to return to the Premier League last month and Bruce's third bid has persuaded Birmingham to let him go.

Bruce is also preparing a third offer for Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and is poised to complete the £2 million signing of Ahmed Elmohamady.

Roberto Martinez wants to make Nathan Redmond one of his first signings as Everton boss.

Martinez is ready to table a £3million bid for the Birmingham winger in an attempt to fight off growing competition.

Crystal Palace, Swansea, Norwich and Fulham have all made bids in the region of £2m for 19-year-old Redmond.

And Birmingham have little option but to sell as they try to ease their financial troubles.

Monaco have made a move for Milan defender Mattia de Sciglio, but they have received a flat “no” from the Italian club.

The two clubs are also believed to be in negotiations for the transfer of Boateng, El Shaarawy and Niang, although it is highly unlikely that all three will make the move to the principality.

Milan have on their part requested Poli from Sampdoria, with the latter asking for Niang in exchange. Milan have offered defender Salamon instead.

Milan could also be on the verge of making another swap with their city rivals Inter, obtaining Alvarez in exchange for Nocerino.

Borussia Moenchengladbach has agreed to sign Brazilian midfielder Raffael from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev subject to a medical.

The Bundesliga club says in a statement that the 28-year-old Raffael will receive a contract through to June 2017 upon completion of his medical on Monday.

The club didn't divulge the cost of the transfer, however Kicker reports a fee of about 5 million euros ($6.6 million) has been agreed.
