Malta Independent Thursday, 27 June 2013, 11:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Real Madrid have offered cash and players to Spurs in a bid to deliver Gareth Bale for newly-appointed boss boss Carlo Ancelotti, The Mirror reports.

Argentina winger Angel Di Maria is among several stars that the Spanish giants are willing to hand over to the White Hart Lane club with in order to land the Premier League's Player of the Year.

However, Tottenham are continuing to reject all interest in the 23-year-old out of hand.

Ancelotti was confirmed as Jose Mourinho’s successor, on a three-year deal, on Wednesday and, Real have officially opened the bidding for a player they started courting publicly in April.

Speaking at his introductory press conference, Ancelotti said: “This team is very good, but there could be some changes. But it doesn’t need much.”

Real's president Florentino Perez had targeted Bale, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Napoli marksman Edinson Cavani ahead of Ancelotti’s arrival.

Although the latter two have indicated willingness to move to the Bernabeu, Real have met unwavering, stiff opposition from Tottenham over Bale.

The Londoners have long maintained that they have no intention of selling their prize asset, who is currently away on holiday.

But Real are now ready to intensify their efforts to change Spurs' minds.
