Manchester United are set to make an improved £16m bid for Leighton Baines in the hope of luring him to Old Trafford, the Daily Star reports.
Everton last week rejected a £12m offer for the England defender, with chairman Bill Kenwright keen to keep him at Goodison.
Kenwright is fuming that former boss David Moyes has tried to raid his old club for one of their prize assets.
He has offered Baines a £70,000-aweek deal and hopes he won't walk out on the Toffees for United.
But Moyes wants his man and will test Everton's resolve with a bigger offer.
