Karl Izzo leaves San Giljan

Malta Independent Tuesday, 2 July 2013, 12:48 Last update: about 12 years ago

Karl Izzo has resigned from San Giljan coach, the club said.

The resignation follows two heavy defeats against Neptunes in the league and Sliema in the Knock-Out.

The committee thanked Mr Izzo for his services and wished him well for the future.

In this evening’s match against Sliema the team will be under the technical direction of Svilen Piraklov.

It is understood that the club is in contact with former Sergio Afric, who coached Sliema earlier this season. Afric, who led San Giljan in the 1990s before coaching also Sirens and Neptunes, is expected to take over San Giljan as from tomorrow.
