A Maltese contingent made up of boys participating in interschool tournaments, chosen by the Malta Schools Sports Federation, have won the Storsjo Cupen International Tournament for the first time.

The football tournament was held in Ostersund, Sweden.

The boys were coached by Michael Farrugia and Mead Mifsud. The group was split into two teams - MSSF 1 and MSSF 2 - and a total 48 teams were split into 11 groups. Both teams managed to win all the games until they confronted each other in the final.

MSSF 2 won the tournament but both teams went up for the cup.
