Stoke City keeper Jack Butland could be heading to Spain on loan to boost his World Cup chances, The Mirror reports.

The 20-year-old England international moved to Stoke from Birmingham last January but was loaned back to the Blues for the rest of last season.

With Stoke’s No.1 Asmir Begovic set to remain, however, Butland could harm his World Cup chances by sitting on the bench.

But the keeper’s agent Gary Mellor has revealed clubs in Spain have been interested in taking him on loan.

Mellor said: “When I was in Barcelona a couple of Spanish clubs wanted to talk to me about taking Jack.

“We have to weigh up all possibilities and I have to keep him playing. So if Asmir is still here on September 2, I’m hopeful that Jack isn’t. I don’t see him sitting on the bench at Stoke City.

“Stoke boss Mark Hughes might see that differently and that’s when Stoke and I do have issues. I have to keep Jack playing so his international ambitions are on track and he continues to develop.”
