Victoria Beckham leads celebrities cheering on Andy Murray

Malta Independent Wednesday, 10 July 2013, 09:27 Last update: about 11 years ago

It's the long awaited final of the 2013 Wimbledon tournament so centre court was bound to be a big draw for celebrity fans. And it seems the turn out to see Andy Murray beat Novak Djokovic in Sunday's centre court battle was even bigger than expected.

Even showbiz royalty Victoria Beckham turned up to support the Scot as he gained the title for the first time ever. She came looking as glammed up as ever as the former Spice Girls star opted for a strappy black lace sun dress and tied her hair back to keep it neat in the blazing hot sunshine.

Following Andy's stunning triumph, Victoria tweeted: 'Congratulations to @andy_murray and his family. Wonderful day at #wimbledon!! So proud to be British! X vb.' But Victoria of course brought along an ally as she soaked up the sun and watched the tennis match unfold.

Her best pal, Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana sat by her side throughout and gossiped to her as the game continued.  Tana opted for a slightly more vibrant ensemble in a bright red shift dress. Beckham looked on through her large sunglasses while occasionally turning to chat to her pal.

Although she wasn't the only WAG in the court as Coleen Rooney was also in tow alongside husband Wayne.

They took a day off from parental duties from sons Kai and Klay to enjoy the sporting afternoon and sat in the row in front of Victoria in the exclusive Royal Box.

And it seems the tennis theme has rubbed off on Coleen, who wore a white patterned skater style dress to the match. She wore her hair in a high ponytail but still looked glammed up with a large clutch bag in her hand.

Wayne also looked dapper for the outing given their royal location in the court and turned up in a dark grey suit with lighter grey tie.

Although they weren't the only stars to take their seats at the match.

It was also the stage for Hollywood stars Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler, who excitedly sat next to each other. They looked almost matching in their suits and sunglasses as they also took their places in the Royal Box. And Gerard couldn't help but approach Rooney for a quick manly chat before the match started.

But what was even more notable was the fact Bradley had brought his model girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, 21, along to the game. The model sat beside him throughout as he took time to chat to her and joke around with Gerard.

And another star who used it as a relaxing day was rocker Ronnie Wood who brought his wife Sally along. He was fresh from rocking the stage in Hyde Park with the Rolling Stones on Saturday night, where they played to a sell out crowd to great applause. And Ronnie certainly seemed relaxed considering his energetic show the night before.

It was also date day for former TV presenter Donna Air and her beau James Middleton, who arrived holding hands.

Retired tennis player Greg Rusedksi also brought his wife along as he enjoyed watching the game on his old stomping ground.

But all eyes were still on the girlfriends of players Andy and Novak. Kim Sears turned out a true winner looking the picture of elegance in a green Victoria by Victoria Beckham dress. The stunning artist has come up top in the battle of the Wimbledon blondes, setting the tone for the afternoon's tense match between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. The model also chose nude accessories in the form of a quilted chain strap bag and T strap platform sandals. She was all smiles holding two water bottles and wearing her sunglasses. While their partners were slugging it out, glamourous blondes Kim and Jelena battled in the fashion stakes.

Murray, the British number one, kicked off the match on top form taking the first set 6-4.

When Murray finally achieved his life-long dream to win Wimbledon, he entered the history books as the first Briton to win the Men’s Singles in 77 years.

Kim is at the forefront of the supporters in the players' box at All England Club's most famous court, while a tense-looking Judy Murray - the Scot's mother - was also courtside for the clash.

Prime Minister David Cameron was also among the supporters.
