Bank of Valletta has renewed its support to Caritas Malta. The Bank’s donation was presented by BOV Chairman John Cassar White and CEO Charles Borg during a courtesy visit by Mgr Victor Grech, Director, Mgr Carmelo Farrugia, Deputy Director and Anglu Fenech, Administrative Secretary of Caritas at the BOV Centre in Sta. Venera.
“As a bank with a social conscience, Bank of Valletta recognizes Caritas’s role in building a strong network of social services in Malta,” said Mr Cassar White. “We are pleased to put the Bank’s Community Programme to good use by providing tangible support to entities which provide such a high and professional level of support to our society” continued Mr Cassar White.
“The treatments provided by Caritas have always achieved a very high rate of success, even in the current scenario in which drug abuse is on the rise, especially among the young” said Mgr Grech. “But drug abuse is only one of the problems addressed by Caritas. We also provide services to people with problems related to usury, gambling, alcohol addiction and marital separations, amongst others. Bank of Valletta’s financial contribution will certainly assist us in continuing to provide our full range of services, and we would like to appeal to the public to assist us in our mission”.
