New Canespro Fungal Nail Treatment Set launched by Bayer Healthcare

Malta Independent Friday, 26 July 2013, 15:32 Last update: about 11 years ago

Canespro® is a new and unique treatment for fungal nail infection from the makers of Canesten®. It follows last year’s launch of Canesten® Bifonazole Once Daily Cream, for athlete’sfoot.

Comprising a urea ointment tube, a set of specially designed plasters and a plastic nail scraper, it has been clinically proven to be effective in gradually removing infected parts of the nail within two to three weeks only, making it the only product of its kind on the market. Follow up treatment with a general antifungal cream is recommended after treatment with Canespro.

Canespro® has been launched in Malta across all pharmacies, where it can already be seen on the shelves.

Canespro® is a unique new treatment for fungal nail infections.  Existing OTC topical treatments tend to be lacquer or pen type products and they can take several months to work.  When using Canespro®, visible results are seen within only a few days of application.

Fungal nail infections affect about four per cent of the adultUK population. The infection is more common on toe nails than on finger nails. Athlete’s foot infection and nail trauma increase susceptibility to the infection significantly. About one quarter of people with diabetes suffer from fungal nail infections.
