Four ‘tulip’ umbrellas, each measuring 4 m x 4 m, have just been installed by Talbot & Bons to provide shade in the morning and early afternoon on the Terrace opposite their SkyParks premises at Malta International Airport.
These unique inverted umbrellas, a first for Malta, have a canvas finish and, thanks to their design, do not allow the summer heat to get trapped underneath, allowing light to go through and can withstand wind speeds of up to 60 km/h.
Another feature of these umbrellas is that any humidity or rainwater goes down a central column and is contained within a plexiglass tube that surrounds the central supporting frame.
The Terrace has been further enhanced with planters incorporating a sophisticated JBL sound system with Harman Cardon amplifiers. Wi-fi is also provided on site, which can be accessed for free.
According to Amy Talbot, Director of Talbot & Bons: “The Terrace is especially ideal for al fresco dining, with this lovely venue giving a sense of space for people to chill out and a unique opportunity to be close to aircrafts taking off and landing.”
The menu at Talbot & Bons has been revamped with a new Tapas section and more platters added, as well as featuring an interesting selection of household items, which are also for sale.
