Transfer news: Bale move to Madrid could be sealed Tuesday

Malta Independent Saturday, 3 August 2013, 10:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Gareth Bale expects his Real Madrid move to be clinched by Tuesday - and the Spanish giants are ready to follow up with the stunning capture of Luis Suarez, Real want the Premier League duo in within a fortnight, paving the way for them to cave in to Manchester United’s £80m bid to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo, the Daily Star reports

The La Liga giants know capturing Bale, and then wrapping up a £40m deal for Liverpool star Suarez, will allow them to cash in on Ronaldo who is stalling on signing a new deal at the Bernabeu.

Starsport understands Liverpool expect to receive a formal offer from Madrid next week, and have already started planning for life without the striker by offering £15m for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.

Bale did not train with Tottenham yesterday and stayed behind as the team travelled for today’s friendly with Monaco. And Bale - who has made it clear he has no intention of playing for Spurs again - expects chairman Daniel Levy to conclude a deal with the Bernabeu giants’ president after the weekend.

The north Londoners want £85m plus hotshot young striker Alvaro Morata - who is valued at around £10m.

Madrid had resisted the prospect of letting Morata, 20, go, but are understood to be ready to sanction a deal as long as a buy-back clause is inserted. Bale could even fly to Madrid this weekend to meet Madrid president Florentino Perez, who has stayed in Spain after his team travelled to the US for a tour.
