Living Waters, a local Voluntary Organisation (VO/0314) just set off to do 5 weeks of voluntary mission work in Ethiopia on the 25th of July. The travel insurance for the entire team of people throughout the duration of their stay has been kindly sponsored by Allcare Insurance Ltd.
The aim of the Voluntary Organisation is to alleviate the hardship and suffering that the people in these Ethiopian communities endure on a day to day basis. The team study the needs of the people with whom it works, as well as their aspirations and work to provide them with the tools necessary to help them improve the quality of their life, encourage them to acquire the independence needed to progress out of poverty - one of the first and most important projects being the provision of clean water. The Maltese team coordinates and implements the projects thanks to the financial support of Maltese benefactors.
“Seeing the drive and passion in these volunteers is truly heart-warming and refreshing. It was our pleasure to play a small part in their mission and this worthy cause. We wish them a productive and satisfying journey” said Judith Galea, CEO at Allcare Insurance Ltd.
“The majority of people in Ethiopia live in poverty. These people do not simply lack financial resources but they struggle each day to keep hunger and disease at bay. Basic opportunities to improve their lives are frequently beyond reach. Many people are poorly fed, poorly educated and usually poorly governed,” said Andrew Attard, Living Waters Organisation. “Guided by the aspirations of the local communities, the team continues to serve with compassion to bring dignity to these people who deserve nothing less! A special thanks to the Allcare team for being so supportive.”
