Everton’s bid to secure Hellas Verona star Jorginho is facing increasing competition from Serie A side Fiorentina, the Daily Star reports.

The 21-year-old has been impressive form for the Bentegodi based side, with The Toffees reportedly registering the interest with a bid worth £7.8m.

And Everton looked to have beaten their Merseyside rivals to his signature after reports in Italy claimed Liverpool had made an inquiry about the Brazilian-born wonderkid.

But the Viola are considering launching their own bid to secure Jorginho.

Jorginho played a big part in Verona's triumphant return to the Italian top flight last season making 41 appearances.

The talented starlet has a contract until 2016 with the Mastinis, who he joined from Sambonifacese in 2011.
