Stoke City are in initial talks to sign former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diuof from Hannover, the Daily Star reports.
New manager Mark Hughes is looking to bolster the City attack, which was the second lowest goalscorers in the Premier League last season.
The discussions for Diouf to return to England after only one year in Germany have been confirmed by Hannover general manager Dirk Dufner.
"They [Stoke] wanted to come over and have a personal chat. This is what we have done, they were welcome," Dufner said.
