Ten-man Malta today suffered a 3-0 defeat (half-time 1-0) in a friendly international match against Azerbaijan in Baku.

Rufat Dadasov gave the home side the lead after only five minutes, but despite their superiority, could not add more goals before the interval whistle.

Rauf Aliyev scored a second goal in the 62nd minute and Dadasov was on target again in the 71st minute for the third and last goal.

Malta ended playing in 10 men when Andrei Agius was sent off in the 68th minute.
