Transfer news: Parker to cross over to QPR

Malta Independent Wednesday, 14 August 2013, 14:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Scott Parker is likely to sign for Queens Park Rangers in the next 48 hours after Harry Redknapp agreed a £3.5m fee with Tottenham, the Telegraph reports.

Redknapp has confirmed that Parker is expected for a medical later on Tuesday before completing a move to Rangers, bringing an end to his two-year spell with Spurs.

The England international midfielder, 32, has been one of Redknapp's top targets since relegation to the Championship and talks have progressed over the past two days, after a bid was rejected last week.

Parker will become QPR's sixth summer signing when the deal goes through and he could make his debut this weekend against Ipswich Town.

Redknapp said: "We're hopeful of getting Scotty signed soon. He's a great lad and will be a really good signing for us."
