Two goals each from Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck saw Manchester United win 4-1 against Swansea in David Moyes' first Premier League game in charge of the defending champion.
Van Persie scored an acrobatic strike in the 34th minute after controlling a deflected pass from Ryan Giggs before Danny Welbeck tapped in from Antonio Valencia's cross moments later.
Wayne Rooney began the game on the bench for United, but replaced Giggs after 61 minutes. Van Persie scored his second 10 minutes later, running through the center of the pitch before curling a shot into the top corner from outside the penalty area.
Wilfried Bony got a debut goal for Swansea in the 81st minute before Welbeck chipped goalkeeper Michel Vorm to complete the scoring.
