Recycling

Malta Independent Sunday, 18 August 2013, 08:33 Last update: about 13 years ago

We refer to Clotilde Mifsud’s letter entitled “Recycling: Setting an example (NOT)”, (TMIS, 11 August).

In her letter Ms Mifsud wrongly assumed that the brochures and out-of-date publications being disposed of in the skip photographed outside the Malta Chamber would not be recycled.

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Not only does the Malta Chamber have a Committee dedicated to energy and the environment it also devotes a good deal of its resources to environmental issues including Waste Management.

For the record, the Malta Chamber is committed to quality management procedures and is the only business organisation in Malta, which is ISO 9001, certified.

We confirm that all the items disposed of in this particular skip and in several others in the last few years have either been or will be recycled.
