Chance for San Giljan to move clear of Neptunes

San Giljan Sir Alex will try to beat Exiles Ferretti this evening to move three points above champions Neptune Emirates on the penultimate day of the BoV waterpolo national league (7.15pm).

At the moment, San Giljan and Neptunes are tied with 27 points each but San Giljan have today’s game in hand. The much expected direct clash between this season’s protagonists next weekend (Saturday 31 August) may well decide the title if San Giljan win or draw. Neptunes must win to force a decider though.

With all interest focusing on these two teams, the other Premier League match between Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate and Sirens Ritter Sport. Sliema won the Premier League Knock-out competition after beating Neptunes on penalties last Tuesday to win the second most important honour.

In the First Division, with Valletta already secured of a double, Ta’ Xbiex Amigos play bottom side M’Xlokk ASC as the latter look for some conso lation with at least the first win of the season. Tomorrow, runners-up M’Scala Mor€ meet Otters Nivea also at 6pm.
