Heavy defeat for Malta on opening day

Malta suffered a heavy defeat against a strong Spanish side yesterday on the opening day of the European Junior Championships for men which is being staged this week at the Tal-Qroqq pool.

The Spanish side dominated the match from start to finish to register a comfortable 19-2 win against the Maltese youngsters.

Spain won the four sessions as follows: 6-0, 4-1, 4-1 and 5-0.

Malta’s goals were netted by Nicholas Bugelli and Ben Plumpton.
