Neptunes’ Stevie Camilleri is the BOV Waterpolo Player of the Month for August 2013.

Certainly no stranger to these awards, Camilleri peaked at the most crucial moments of the Premier League to lead his team to the fourth consecutive title. His contributions in defense as well as his vision of the game were among the elements that led him to win this award along with his haul of 64 goals as the top scorer of the league.

Valletta United goalkeeper Ryan Sciortino won his second consecutive award this season. A string of fine saves and the ability to direct his defence led Valletta United to the three major titles of the BOV Water Polo First Division. It is to be noted that Sciortino’s performance led Valletta United into conceding a massive 30 goals less than their nearest rivals Marsascala.

Joyce Tabone, Head Media and Community Relations at Bank of Valletta and Joe Caruana Curran, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta presented the awards to the winners.
